The bitrate of a song is how many bits (ones and zeros) it takes to store one second of a song. For example, a song that has a bitrate of 128Kbps takes a little over 128,000 bits per second. Music encoded with a bitrate between 128Kbps and 192Kbps provides good quality while maintaining the high compression ratio that made MP3s so popular.
You need a program to encode your tracks as MP3s. There are many MP3 encoders available to choose from. When you have chosen an encoder make sure it is set up to encode between 128Kbps and 192Kbps for high quality.
